I emphasize the belief that everyone is born musical and focus on providing diverse interventions for students in their formative years. I advocate for all students to take basic music classes to develop essential musical skills. I design lessons using various modalities to cater to different learning styles and abilities, including students with special needs. By incorporating activities such as singing, creating music, reading and writing notes, movement, playing instruments, and more into my curriculum, I ensure each student can learn in a way that feels comfortable to them while reaching their maximum potential.

I support the idea of singing as the foundation of music education due to its accessibility and benefits for students’ musical development. Additionally, I advocate cultural relevance in music education by collecting authentic materials from diverse backgrounds for pedagogical use.

Overall, my contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion in music education are focused on providing inclusive and culturally relevant learning experiences for students of all backgrounds.
