Part 1 | From Fieldwork to Classroom with the Kodály Society of the Philippines
- A Joyful Beginning in Manila -
The first workshop in this recent series was organized by the Kodály Society of the Philippines and held at the Philippine Women’s University in Manila on January 10, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Titled “From Fieldwork to Classroom: Developing Philippine Music Resources for Teaching,” the workshop offered participants an immersive and joyful experience. Teachers from Metro Manila engaged with my newly edited publications, including books from the Read and Sing Series, fresh from the press.
I have always admired the dedication of the KSP Board, especially those who have served over many years, witnessing the Society’s growth and generously giving their time and resources to such a noble cause. Under the current leadership of President Ms. Rea L. Jimenez and Vice President Ms. Roselle Elinore H. Matias, this same spirit of collaboration, proactive leadership, and openness to exploring new ideas continues to thrive. In many ways, the Board serves as a driving force in bringing my research into motion, ensuring that it reaches teachers and classrooms where it can truly make a difference.
