A Lifelong Advocacy: From Fieldwork to Classroom in Philippine Music Education
From Japan to the Philippines, I go! I wake up each morning with a clear sense of purpose—one that continues to give meaning to my work and my travels. My advocacy in the Philippines, sustained over decades, remains a powerful motivation for returning to my home country. I have long believed in the vital role of teachers as stewards of cultural preservation, using relevant resources and meaningful strategies to engage students in authentic learning experiences.
Teacher training has become a central component of my Philippine Project, especially after years of fieldwork research. It is time for these carefully gathered and developed materials to reach the classrooms—where students can experience them firsthand.
